resolutions
Thursday, November 26, 2009 @ 8:31 pm as the year is drawing to a close, i guess it's the time to declutter and get ready for the new year. Everytime we draw up a list of resolutions we hope to acheive. We get excited about those resolutions when the clock strikes 12 on 31 Dec. Then we get the hangover from NYE drinks over the weekend and dragged ourselves to work on the first monday of the new year. Rewind. We should really keep to those simple resolutions, draft up a plan and take action. Because words without actions is dead. I found some amazing resolutions I'd like to dedicate to my friends: To the bestie: ![]() to hoi: ![]() to andrea: ![]() to lala: ![]() to theresa: ![]() to min: ![]() to ser: ![]() to tif: ![]() to me: ![]() Labels: girlfriends 0 Comments: |

bridal bouquet
@ 8:22 pm dearest MIL is getting her friend who's working at a florist to help prepare my bridal bouquet, the boutonnieres and car deco :) Suggested this to her: Bluish/white hydrangeas Saw this on snippet and ink awhile back and i loved the flower! It's so simple and classy, just the way i like it :)Because hydrangeas are seasonal, we got a 2nd option as well: white lilies with blue ribbon Ain't these lovely as well? Love the dark blue ribbon (mine's light blue though) contrasting with the white to look like a tuxedo! Cute~~Labels: weddings 0 Comments: |

to my golfballs :P
@ 11:14 am When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 Hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.' The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life." The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else - literally the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life." If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. So... Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your family. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. "Take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend." Thanks to all the 'golf balls' in my life!! :D Labels: friends, girlfriends 0 Comments: |

stirred
Tuesday, November 17, 2009 @ 7:22 pm when i read this entry in ser's blog, i was touched and the moment of realisation hit me: God is there to catch us when we fall. Letting go is not an act of cowardism or escaping from reality, it's the courage to embrace uncertainty and letting Him take care of the rest. Read on... You don’t hold onto your faith, your faith holds on to you. You do not hold onto God. God holds onto you. I think the point of our struggles is not that we are strong enough to fight and survive alone. It’s not a test of our faith to see if we have the willpower to choose God when everything in this world screams at us to choose despair, bitterness, anger, loneliness, and disbelief. Struggles are not a cruel experiment to see if you can keep holding on. Struggles illuminate the fact that we cannot hold on. We let go. And it is there, in our weakness, brokenness, exhaustion, and pain that God is ever present. Not because you made it but because God values you, loves you, and cares so deeply for you, for me, for us that He has never abandoned humanity. He is with us. I will fight. I will not quit. I will wake up each morning and breathe and get out of bed and choose life. Time and time again and endure because I know at the end of the day, when I can no longer fight, can no longer keep it together, can no longer hang on, I know Someone is there to catch them. So I let go. And the mysterious presence of God finds me, surrounds me, holds me up, and brings peace into their despair. –kate This is simply amazing. God is good.
