Got a lovely surprise from Huixin yesterday when we met up for lunch. She got me a necklace and matching earrings for wedding present! So touched!!

as the year is drawing to a close, i guess it's the time to declutter and get ready for the new year. Everytime we draw up a list of resolutions we hope to acheive. We get excited about those resolutions when the clock strikes 12 on 31 Dec. Then we get the hangover from NYE drinks over the weekend and dragged ourselves to work on the first monday of the new year.

Rewind. We should really keep to those simple resolutions, draft up a plan and take action. Because words without actions is dead.

dearest MIL is getting her friend who's working at a florist to help prepare my bridal bouquet, the boutonnieres and car deco :)

Suggested this to her: Bluish/white hydrangeas

Saw this on snippet and ink awhile back and i loved the flower! It's so simple and classy, just the way i like it :)

Because hydrangeas are seasonal, we got a 2nd option as well: white lilies with blue ribbon

Ain't these lovely as well? Love the dark blue ribbon (mine's light blue though) contrasting with the white to look like a tuxedo! Cute~~

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
when 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided,
"I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life."

The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else - literally the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,
"there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life."

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Spend time with your family.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.

"Take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled.

"I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

when i read this entry in ser's blog, i was touched and the moment of realisation hit me: God is there to catch us when we fall. Letting go is not an act of cowardism or escaping from reality, it's the courage to embrace uncertainty and letting Him take care of the rest.

There’s so much power in letting go, as oxymoronic as it sounds. Letting go is the ultimate expression of trust, humility, and courage. The world may see it as helplessness, but what I see in letting go is the courage and willingness to embrace uncertainty, and it’s not easy. Letting go is not leaving bits to God and saving some for self – it is surrender; it is not giving up, or losing hope – it is a positive expectation of God’s goodness to shine in our lives without doing what we want to do, but to let God lead and guide and prompt us to do what He thinks is good, to obey God even if we may not understand.

This is simply amazing. God is good.

i don't think i've blogged about this but on our recent trip back to SG in May, we bought our first apartment! Yes we're home owners now! :D


Dad and mum went by our new house in the making to take pictures and it has already built to Level 16! 10 more levels to our unit at Level 26 :D

The house will be ready by 2012 and hopefully we'll be back by then to stay :)

feeling really loved for the following reasons:

- my MIL who's been so sweet and endearing. she fusses on our wedding preps and always want to lavish us the best she can provide. :)

- my very cute mummy and daddy whom I skyped home to every Sunday. we never fail to chat more than an hour and the things we talked about can be so ordinary that I still find it so interesting to hear about. :):)

- my very dear gfs, hoi, andrea and lala whom helped heaps with the wedding planning. their wonderful creative ideas to make our day the most special one for us. :):):)

- my dearest darling. i love him for him. :):):):)

- God. for showing me all the love the above people have lavished upon me whom i cannot stop to sing praise and give thanks. :D:D:D:D:D

Shall post updates frequently because it's already November!!!

2 more months to the BIG DAY :D

1. We've finalised the design and insert for our wedding invites. Glad that they have the colour we wanted :)

2. Ordered customised macarons to the theme colour too! Abit expensive but we think it's worth it because it's so lovely! I heart macarons :D

Done up a long list of tasks and assigned to Eug and my lovely NWC members (Nadyne's wedding committee): hOi, andrea and lala!! I love my fiance and girls!! *muacks!*

Getting closer to each day that we're going back SG and spend fabulous time with our family and loved ones.

YAY!!
