Sunday, February 22, 2009 @ 5:58 pm over the past couple of months, we've been very inventive in our daily dinner just because we want to save a couple of moolah. and we found out that most of the things u eat outside can be readily prepared if you take the time and effort to do it! Here's some of our home-made meals :)  Eug's version of pizza!With sliced chorizos, capsicum, bacon bits, mushroom and lots of mozarella and parmesan cheese!!  My take on spicy lemon thai chicken from Women's WeeklyIt's really hot!  Home-made Pumpkin Soup!Made from 1.5kg of Australian pumpkins *slurp*  Easy and convenient meatball linguineI made the meatballs from scratch and is real easy :)  Choc Fondue!!! My housemate Joanne's home-made tacos! Hainanese chicken rice!It's really easy to cook! The chilli is courtesy of my friend's Jade's mum who grow her own chilli and lime in the garden! @ 2:59 pm  if you haven't catch this in the cinema, please GO!!! I've heard rave reviews for this one and we finally caught it today. It's a very different Indian movie - perhaps it's coz the director is not an Indian? :P The story was so real - an orphan from the slums in Mumbai actually went through so much just to be with his only love since young. It really gripped my heart every moment I see the male lead, Jamal finding ways and means to find his love, Lathika. and of course, the end of the movie they had to it the 'indian style' - bollywood dance! But the show was really awesome! No wonder it won so many accolades and has the 2nd most nominations in this year's Oscar's :) Labels: movie 0 Comments: |

my first exam in aussie
Wednesday, February 18, 2009 @ 12:38 pm i had my first commercial law paper this morning and honestly i thought it was too easy. Seriously, i'm not being over-confident (in fact i wasn't the first to leave! some guy left after 40min of the paper!) but i think it's really a give-away! Most of the questions came out from tutorials and revision exercises - if you do read them, u'll definitely be able to answer. I was really early as i wasn't sure of the venue + i want to hitch a ride to city from Eug. Was the first to arrive followed by a guy. and it was only the two of us until almost 9am when the exam is suppose to start soon. we have 15min of reading time so writing only started at 9.30am (i wonder if all Aussie exams are like this - it's really good to have that 15min to read coz I finished 30 questions in 20min?) Anyway, i left the exam hall at 10min to 11am - total time spent = 1hr25min for a supposedly 3hrs paper! So happy coz now i'm only left with Tax paper on Friday (which is more tedious coz of the calculations) Thank God for the breeze! Labels: ramblings 0 Comments: |

Saturday, February 14, 2009 @ 10:43 pm it's our first Valentine's in Brisbane, but we want to do something simple - no dinner at fancy restaurants, no over-priced roses, just the 2 of us and the time spent with each other. he promised good steak over a glass of wine - and i'm really happy to see the man donning the cute apron and putting so much time, effort and love to whip up our simple dinner. :)  Eug, the master chef in the making *lol* Awwww~~~~ *melts* Tadaa!~~Rump steak with home-made teriyaki sauce, grilled corn cob, lebanese cucumber, mixed veg and potatoes You really know that you're very much in love when your man cooks for you :D Happy Valentine's Day! @ 2:15 pm i know - we moved again!! *lol* this time i'm sure it'll be better than the previous coz we have facilities now + friendly neighbours and efficient resident manager!! plus our apartment is now 2bedroom and 2 bathroom as we're sharing w our dear fren/housemate, Joanne, so it's more like a home now :)  View from the kitchen - overlooks the swimming pool.风凉水冷 (say in canto :P)  our kitchen - the ledge is ideal to put our condiments!Look at the no of bottles the 3 of us have! We're gonna cook up a storm!  My little study corner near the kitchen and our dining table (sorry for the mess!) The living room - still abit messy but can-do! Corridor leading to the main bedroom w ensuite bathroom The main bathroom which Joanne uses and the laundry too (our new LG 7kg washer!) Our bathroom - good that we can keep all the bathroom stuff on the ledge too~ Our bedroom - with huge glass-door wardrobe! The main bedroom opens up to the big balcony where we use as laundry drying area and storage! View from the balcony - opp is an office building which is alrite becoz when we're home, there's nobody to peep across to our bedroom :)all thanks to my wonderful cell mates and Huixin who came to help us on bright early Saturday morning and we managed to move everything by noon! And then we spent the rest of the day unpacking, by dinner time it was almost done :) Decided to reward ourselves to a nice dinner and Joanne brought us to eat nice taiwanese food :)  Zoe, Joanne, me and Eug Our bubble tea: Juliet and Romeo! :P L-R: my crispy chicken rice, bak kut teh noodle, agadeshi tofu and beef noodle!!
