our love story
Sunday, April 05, 2009 @ 12:01 am

This was how we looked like when we first know each other. Till now i still can't believe how I would fall for a ah-beng lookalike with floppy hair!! :P But i never regret my choice since.

You were so fit and slim when I met you, someone who was rather shy and did not dare talk to me eye-to-eye. I remembered I had to start up conversations so that it won't feel too awkward.

The first time we met, you bought me a pair of trainer skates and honestly, i was BLOWN AWAY. I mean since when do you receive a present on your first date? And then you taught me how to skate too and that was the first time you held my hands as you guide me on the trainers.

Our first movie was "Just Married" (hmm was it a sign?? :P) and then you held my hands in the cinema for real.

You sent me bouquet of flowers to my part-time work place for our first month together, a photo album and a Giordano sweater (all of which I can't remember where I've chucked them! :x)

and then we took our first 'mini' vacation together - Sentosa :P I can still remember all the uncertainty and unsecurity during the first couple of months of our relationship, but u strongly believe that we're rock solid. It was so heartwarming to hear from you.

and then i suggested we go for a Valentine's Day promotional photo shoot but we didn't even hang up the picture after that! It was my first Valentine's and it was so memorable.

I remembered on my 20th birthday, you gave me my first diamond ring in my life! It wasn't something expensive but knowing that you've scrimped and saved (eating bao for 1 month!!!) really melted me there and then (i'm still wearing it!).

I know you've been into scuba diving when we first knew each other, so instead of leaving you on some weekends while u go underwater to 'hang out' with your fishes, i decided to join you too!

I never felt so good to be holding your hands underwater and admiring your passion for underwater photography - how you have the keenest eye for the smallest fish (and you won 1st prize for an amateur photography competition!) and the most beautiful marine organism.

And then it was our 2nd Valentine's day - honestly i didn't expect we can be together for so long, but we made it.

and we spent birthdays and anniversaries together.

and we finally went on a scuba diving trip to Phuket together! I love those days where we just laze around and spend such quality time with each other. Knowing that both of us love the sun and sea absolutely thrills me :)

and on the diving trip to Dayang with you, i met with a minor near-death experience. It was a night dive and i was feeling jittery but i know you'd want me to go on it with you. As I descended, I saw a sea bed of urchins waiting for me and I panicked and wanted to resurface. Not knowing that my head was near to the motor of the dive boat, i almost got my head cut off! *shudders* and then i went into hyperventilation and was crying and struggling till i couldn't even walk back to the room.

You swept me off and carried me to the bed, with me struggling to breathe and had to rely on a mini oxygen tank. There were tears in your eyes because you thought you had lost me. You kept apologizing for not being able to be with me or rescue me but I told you it was not your fault. That's when I know I can't lose you too.

I remembered it took me very long to persuade you to go on a non-diving holiday for your graduation and you agreed because I suggested Taiwan!

That was the best holiday ever! Just because I love the food and shopping and you got yourself 2 Gundam figurines!! :P

And then you started working and things start to stabilise - work, rest, eat, date. Life seems to be routine yet blessed.

I love how you always challenge me: to be independent, to have my own opinion and stay true to it and most importantly, you made me the person who I am today. Someone who is mature, independent and confident.

and beneath that seemingly indifferent face of yours, you're such a warm and friendly guy. I know you've changed so much for me: chatty, thoughtful and vocal of your thoughts and feelings. If you hadn't realise, you've become the man who leads and guides me in our relationship, my pillar of support.

and you told me you want to further your studies overseas because you want to be able to advance in your career to provide for me in future. I supported your decision and I promised I will follow you wherever you'll go. thank God that you got a full scholarship and I got a job too!

and then we embarked on a new chapter in our lives: relocating to a new country and starting a new phase in our lives together. It can be hard sometimes but your companionship made everything easier and so looking forward to.

Whenever I look back to reminisce the wonderful times we have together, I can't stop thanking God for bringing you into my life, for showing me what love is and for telling me that there is someone out there who will complete me.

Happy 6th Anniversary my darling, I will always love you~~
