The technical term is Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) or in layman terms, a rapid rhythm of the heart in which the origin of the electrical signal is either the atria or the AV node.
Even loosely put, it's superb racing of the heart and yes, last night, my heart was beating at 186 per min for almost an hour. :(
With the experience of my previous episode last year (didn't think it will come back, but who knows? :/), I did some 'self-rescue' and waited for 20minutes to see if the heart beat slows down. So we hop onto a cab and made our way to the A&E at TTSH, before I nearly fainted when they made me lie on the wheeler bed and gave me a jab of Adenosine.
I was kinda amazed at myself that I can actually control, walk and even narrate the whole incident to the A&E doctors. I took note of the time of incident, how long were the symptoms, what was the remedial action taken etc. ( I guess it's all the episodes of Grey's Anatomy that I've been watching :P)
Doc suggest i undergo a simple surgery, Radiofrequency Ablation, to get rid of this irritating electric current inside my heart. Shall find out more after I meet up with the cardiologist and understand how this whole thing works.. Hopefully they don't have to rip open my chest or something. That'll be SOOOO ugly!!!! :(:(:(
