had an interview at KPMG this morning.

Was almost late and threw myself into a frenzy when I couldn't find the pair of close-toed heels that I need to wear. Called Mum and she jus told me to find among the shoe boxes. Luckily Dad was at home and he helped me. But it delayed me for a few minutes and I was kinda tempted to take a cab. Luckily I didn't, coz when i step out of the house, i saw 2 ppl waiting by the road for taixs too. Think my area here is super difficult to hail a cab in the mornings. I've tried it and I paid the price man..

Anyway, luckily the NEL was fast enough and I've checked the place before today, so I managed to find the building quickly. I had been walking pretty fast coz I was scared I wud be late. You wouldn't want to be late on ur interview rite?

Reached the office at 10min before 10am.. Phew, the lady was already there receiving me. After I waited for a couple of minutes for the room to clear out, the lady drop me a bombshell, totally caught me unprepared. I was suppose to write a 1-page essay type thingy, pertaining to the question, which goes sth like this: "You are in the midst of finalising the audit for your client's company but you found that some of the important accounting schedules were incomplete. The deadline for submission is coming. Write a letter to the Managing Director to tell him of the situation and seek his advice". Yah sth along this line lar...

BUt well, i wasn't expecting anything, let alone having to write a letter there and then! Gosh, i was cursing and swearing inside. But no choice, i only haf 10min to finish up, so I tried my best to write whatever I can think of. May not be perfect, but think that's the best I could do liao..

After that the manager called Claudia came in. She's quite nice, din feel any nervousness or tension when I was speaking with her. (Some people makes me feel weak in the knee sometimes.. ;P) Anyway, she asked me a few questions like why did i choose KPMG and what do i hope to learn out from this internship yada yada. The USUAL.

After that, she began to brief me about the workings in their department and the kind of clients the co has dealt with etc. By the word 'brief', that is an understatement coz she talked super fast and she was talking most of the time.. haha :) But she got me rather interested in the things the department was doing and I like the fact that the staff came from various countries also. Loved to make new friends man... :)

Overall, think I did pretty okay and I gave her quite a good impression also I guess. Hopefully I'll be able to do internship at KPMG this holidays.. hoi, geok, li, apply KPMG for ur PA and we can go lunches together!! :)

ok time for a nap... i still haf tonnes of readings waiting for me... sianzz

so preoccupied with keeping myself in the loop of the amount of info circulating for new semester and my printer buzzing away with pieces and pieces of print outs...

first day school was quite alright. It's always nice to be back in familiar grounds, where u see the usual grp of ppl and you'll get to see the young freshies. Which kinda reminded me that I was like them 2 years ago.. How time flies~ Everyone was lamenting how we were already in our final year and after that, it'll just be 9-5 desk-bound jobs never ending..

it's always nice to meet up with old pals, the feeling of familiarity never stops to warm my heart.

lugged 2 bags full of textbooks and notes to sch in a cab for Hoi. That girl is sooo busy with her cca stuff. Kinda admired her perseverance in doin the things that she's passionate about. For me, nah.. think i'm those 'microwave' personality, 三分钟热度. :D

met up with Serene and brought her around. Her first day in NTU but she's a direct 2nd year entry to Bio Sci. I can totally understand how she feels, being so lonely and everyone is a strange face to her. But think she'll get along pretty fast after the actual lessons commence.. It's always easy to make new friends in school, but not at work place.

had a taxing Tax seminar today. (no pun intended ;) Tutor was rather mild-mannered, but he co-authored the S'pore Master Tax Guide, which is no mean feat. Thought he would turn out like Prof Ng Eng Juan lidat, funny, humorous and ALWAYS promoting his book. But well, turned out that he 'looked' like he can be bullied by us... haha :P so mean of me. But think he has what it takes, could explain the terms and stuff quite thoroughly. Heard from Ben that the closed book exam is not easy, some of his frens flunked last sem. I better work hard on my part too.

No school for me tomolo coz it's NTU's annual Flag Day. Roy was still asking me if I would still donate to Flag Day ppl when I see them on the streets. He was worried that the recent NKF scandal has already casted a bad impression on practically ALL donation drives and charity aids. Shall check out tom when I go town.

But if you were approached by students selling flags, would you still readily take out a coin and put inside the can? Some ppl who were interviewed on news some day back had already hesitated and asked alot more questions such as 'Who are we donating to?', 'How are you going to distribute these donations to the needy people?' etc. I mean, how do you expect these clueless students to react? Think most of them just sell flags out of obligations or to earn extra cca points. I doubt they can answer all these questions.

But do donate some of ur coins (be it 1 cent or 5 cent ones) to the NTU Flag Day people tomorrow when u happened to see them. Think it's not easy to raise funds for the needy people any more. And i guarantee you that the money will GO TO the charity organisation. At least that's what Roy told me. Please help?

woohoo!!! EVERYBODY I'M BACK!!! with a BANG!! ;D

only reached Singapore at about 8.45am this morn, the bus took super darn long to reach from Jerteh town lar. Boarded the bus at 9.30pm ystd nite and only reached this morn. That's the thing with cheap bus coz they'll nid to make several stop overs to pick up diff passengers.

Anyway, my dive trip can only be described with one word: EXHILARATING!!! Haha, i'm super super tanned now, abit of sun burnt but I'm so happy that I'm dark again! ;P I got to touch the clear blue sea and saw so many marine life! And it's my first time managing underwater photography, I must say I'm quite good at it actually! tho not as pro as Ugin (definitely man!) but i think i mus gif myself a huge pat on the back for the effort! *Photos will be uploaded once I've edited it. ;P

The ppl at Flora Bay Divers were warm and welcoming. Our dive masters were mostly caucasians, mostly hailed from Britain with their british accent. There were loads of ang mohs over there, sun tanning, snorkellling or jus signing up their dive courses. Most have stayed there for a couple of weeks liao, so it's like their own private house lidat. hah :) How i wished i could have stayed longer over there. Imagine waking up to beautiful sandy beaches, swaying coconut trees and that vast blue sea!!! whoa, makes me wanna go there again! :)

Think Perhentian is definitely much better than Redang, consider it's actually more homely and quiet than other resorts we've been to, like Tioman, Batam and such. Less commercialised i suppose, doesn't gif u the feel that you're in another Sentosa or sth lidat. The service crew there treated us like their family members, cept that they were the ones serving us. When we were diving, the ppl there helped us to carry our tanks and other equipment, sth we didn't quite felt comfortable with, coz we're quite used to carry our own stuff to the boat everytime. (which probably explains why i felt so happy and rejuvenated, rather than groaning with my bruises and aches. ;P)

We had diff guides each day, with this lovely Brit lady called Beth, who took us on the first dive and the last one. She was really warm becoz she knew we were there for leisure and were armed with cameras so she accomodate to us and let us stay at one spot longer in order to capture some nice shots. There's another Brit Indian, Ravi who was quite chatty also, he made us felt homely diving with them. :)

The place wasn't as decorated or well furnished as Paya Beach in Tioman (their bathroom was reali nice!) but it jus gave us all a v homely feel. Think I would prob go back again sometime soon. :)

And sch's starting!!!! yeah!! haha i'm finally a FINAL year student!! ;P can't wait to start sch and see my pals man, it'll be soo different as a final yr student and like the most senior ones ard in my faculty. Den we'll start gossiping abt which freshie is cute and what nots. (and prob Ben will start to salivate once more *grinz*)

Alritey, time to get back to my PA report, I haven't started a single word! *Altho i have loads to write, but i haven't figured out how to write in the most subtle but sarcastic tone. heh :P

a total mad rush in office today.

trying to rush finish all the things that were left hanging there, and knowing that we're leaving soon and they'll super short-handed, more stuffs were piled on us. nabeh.

that Bitch was super edgy today. We merely went out to run errand for Boss and called to look for us TWICE. And when we were out for lunch, she called again to check if were back. Just before we left for the day, my friend went down to her office to pass the things she asked us to do. Poor fren of mine got a scolding from her, saying that she's very unhappy about work attitude these past few days. She claimed that we always take leave or went off withou telling her, so when she wanted to look for us she can't find us. Hey wait a sec bitch, we're not YOUR puppets okay, we DON'T need to report to you our whereabouts every time. Besides, you kept saying that you and my boss share our allowance, so naturally we will also be doing things for Boss rite?

That Bitch just felt very desperate and insecure because after we leave (which is like tomorrow), there'll be NO ONE to run errands for her, and she's left all by herself to do things liao. Hah, you should have seen her desperate face. Trying to hire people with peanuts salary, of course nobody would turn up lah! Stupid no brains. And your work are super menial, that I don't think you'll need anyone with any experience. Even a housewife or auntie can manage it!

And now she's pressured by my Boss who also has some shares in the business school of hers, that she has resort to EVERY means to get income for the vacant classroom. Even to the extent of asking my friend call up churches to see if they want to rent our classroom for their use. And she's trying to open up lunch time yoga classes to get fast bucks. Puhlees for goodness' sake! You started out as a business school conducting professional classes for adults, then stick to that! Channel all your efforts in making that work instead of thinking other stupid ideas to get fast money in the short run. We all bet that her business school will fold in the next coming months. She can't survive with that stupid pea brain of hers. KNS.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

anyway, tonight's 3rd NKF show did not even haf any words on top to ask people to donate money and that Cao Qi Tai did not utter a SINGLE word relating to 'Please Donate generously' and what nots. I guessed they were told by the MediaCorp to NOT raise any inkling about donation, for fear of stirring up public emotions further. Already, angry public have sprayed paint outside the walls of NKF HQ and over 4,000 people have called in to cancelled their monthly donations to NKF and 28,000 ppl have the petition for T.T. Durai to leave office. (Oh i've signed it too, if you want, you can go to http://www.petitiononline.com/nkfs to sign too)

Latest on the news was that donation efforts for NKF has ceased momentarily and T.T. Durai has resigned with immediate effect. Prolly he should go home and hug his $900 gold-plated tap huh? hahah :P

What I think of this? I have already thought that NKF should be more transparent in disclosing the usage of the donations every year, in order to increase credibility and also to make it more convincing to the public that the money that they have donated goes into good hands and to those who are in need of them. I've never been a 'fan' of watching these charity shows because I felt that they're jus so 'fake' or commercialised when asking people to donate.

I mean, if the sponsors can sponsor condos and cars, why not use these prizes and convert it into real cash and give to the needy people?? won't that be better than giving to the healthy people who have won it by merely calling a few calls which is prolly a teeny weeny fraction of the price of a condo?

Perhaps you might argue from the perspective or psychology, that people need some kind og gambling element in these donations, in order to feel the excitement and also a chance of winning something that they could not have afford in their life. Maybe these prizes are good external stimuli that can intrigue the brains and kept telling us that we should call more to get MORE! bah.

anyway, I just think that NKF should do something to restore public's confidence in them soon. And isn't NKF more of a statutory organisation rather than a non-profit one? I mean, they can get MediaCorp to garner efforts by all their celebrities to perform show after show, fly other countries' celebrities to SG to perform, they must have that KIND of money and influence such that MediaCorp is so willing to help them rite? Don't tell me MediaCorp did out of compassion, because that's jus BULLSHIT. MediaCorp is the No. 2 money-sucker in SG, just after NKF. Look at all those 1900s ringtones, sms service that they're providing. Radio Cards, and now even Celeb Blogs service on handphone! Kaoz, this is money-sucking or what??!!!

Think this whole thing is damn screwed up and the news reports weren't even 100% factual. They only go through the brief points so that it won't bring out the impact of this whole incident. Anyway, news in SG is controlled by garblebment, so we small citizens can only sit there and be brain-washed. At least, I'm TRYING not be one of them now.

Kor finally graduated!!! so happy for him! :D

You wouldn't noe how exhilarating it was when the professor called out his name. A resounding "Seow Shu Ming" echoed instantly thruout the audtiorium, and ppl clapped, esp my parents. I was busy focusing that precise moment where he shook hands with the Dean of Engineering. At the moment, my heart skipped a beat and i held my breath. How proud I was to see my dear brother, finally putting his on that famous blue robe and hat and walking up the stage. It has been precisely 25 years, since he was born and I could see tears flowing in Mum's eyes. They must have been so proud, to see their beloved son graduating on this very day.

After that we took some photos with Kor outside the auditorium. Some of his friends' parents didn't come, mebbe they haf their own private celebration later or sth. All of Kor's friends graduated with 2nd Lower Honours and above, quite a mean feat I would say. I'll be glad if i can grad with a 2nd Lower, think not easy man. tough competition.

and finally, last 2 days before my attachment is over!!! WOOHO!! YEAH!!~~~ i've been waiting for this day ever since like the first day?? Man, I can't explain how relieved I was to know that this attachment thingy is finally OVER. Yes, no more breathing in second hand smoke from that irritating, unreasonable biatch aka Black Widow, and no more doin menial work and errands and getting occasional stares and scolding from Boss. Come to think of it, Yvonne and Yemon are still the best colleagues here. Yvonne always buy us free food like goreng pisang, XO durians, cakes, BK, and what nots. And Yemon's laughter is forevar so bubbly n cheerful, it's always nice to haf her around. And we'll discuss about the food or songs she hear in Myanmar and what the things she do when she's back home and stuff. Loads of chit-chatting, gossiping about BS (esp gossips about HER, man i can write into a 2,000 word essay!!) and doing work together. This is prob the only positive side out of this whole attachment thingy. ;)

And i'm leaving this Sunday for Perhentian diving!!!!!! Another event that is soooo much anticipated (I have alr made plans since last July!!) :P Really can't wait to go diving man, altho i noe my stamina is super bad *oops* but still, i can't wait to feel the sea water, breathing in nitrogen, looking at the wonderful marine life and spending time with Ugin. :)

Boss is treating tom's lunch and Friday's dinner!!!! haha that means i can save on my meals again!! ;P this is so great! But i haven't paid for my Perhentian trip, luckily Mum is sponsoring me abt half of the trip, else I'll be so pok kai! O_o

'nuff said, time for my 'religious' readings of mrbrown, mr miyagi, kenny sia, finicky feline n xiaxue! nitez.......

today will be my 2nd consecutive day of eating seafood.

Had seafood steamboat at M Hotel with Ugin coz he has a $50 voucher for 2 persons. The food was not bad, can choose to haf 2 kinds of soups in one steamboat, so we had chicken and tom yam. I was quite excited when i see those food at buffets. Can't be help lar, i'm always lidat one... hahah ;D

anyway, i dun haf the capacity for buffets, coz I only take one round of food and proceed to their desserts already. To me, i prefer the pastries, fruits rather than the main course itself. Weird huh, pay so much money jus to eat so little. :P (Jie Si will so kill me man.. *grinz*)

Anyway, today's is Papa's 56th Birthday!!! Time flies man, so fast reaching his big Six-Zero liao.. :P He's getting plumper by the day, coz he's snacking loads at night. Kept complaining that he's hungry at night, when he had eaten a fair share during dinner each day. And he has knee problems as well, so he can't jog in the morning. Now he's working at home, he has more time to himself, but he doesn't seem to have much hobbies that can keep him occupied other than work.

Papa went for a check-up for his knee sometime back, and doctor advised him to go for an X-ray and see if he needs to go for minor op to alleviate his knee pain. But Papa thinks it's too expensive and is still reluctant to go.

Papa really love the family alot, altho he didn't show it explicitly. He especially went down to NUS to help Kor collect his convocation robe when he was away for company meeting. Altho he nags at him for not doing his things properly, he would still help him eventually. That's him I guess. His own way of caring for us.

I hope by the time Papa turns 60, me and Kor will be able to give him a big celebration by then. Invite all his khakis and old time school pals for a dinner. I think Papa will be quite happy then. ;)

Shall update later about my Seafood Gourmet Buffet at Fullerton Hotel. i'm so gonna get sea-sick. (no pun intended)

was super disgusted today.

had a 'stressful' lunch with The Biatch aka BS (yes, in case you've noticed, I've revert to this name of hers becoz she's getting more n more disgusting) coz she wanted us to do things for her. Ever since she shifted downstairs to her new office, we have been running up and down the stairs to do simple errands for her, which we feel that she could have just done it with her bony fingers. Yet, she jus like to pick up the phone and call us to 'pop' by for awhile and do chores like, pick up faxes, run down to 7-11 to get her drinks, fix the computer cable, and do this do that. Alot of times, she could have gotten answers by just clicking on the internet and finding it for herself. Obviously, she felt that way was too tough for her bony fingers.

And did i mention that her toilet was perpetually covered with unknown stains (my fren saw blood on the toilet seat. wonder where did it come from. *disgusted*) and has this smell that I think is only unique to her. Mebbe it's her shit smell (biatches tend to smell bad simply becoz they're biatch.) or prob her BO. Yah, becoz she doesn't shave her armpits and allow it to grow to such a grotesque scene. Worse still, she luuurves to wear sleeveless and brandish her hairs in front of us. *puke*

anyway, wat i was disgusted with was that they jolly well noe that we're ending our attachment next weekend and they purposely pile work on us for us to do. I'm already buried in the accounts that I was doing (data entry whole day) and that stupid Biatch kept asking me to do menial task for her, which i emphasize again, can easily be done using her blardi brains. How ironic when always yell in the phone to those govt stat boards hotline operators when they fail to accede to her unreasonable demands and kept accusing people of being stupid and ineffienct, when she herself has no blardi brains as well. She must have studied too much such that her blardi brains kena fried-ed.

Poor fren of mine. He has to distribute flyers for her business school that was attempting to conduct some ACCA classes for people. And Biatch asked him to go down to 3 different schools on 3 days to distribute flyers. Mind you, this was not extra pay for him but rather WITHIN his job scope. Fuck her lar, she got the blardi money to spend on all those ugly-looking furniture and stuff she don't have money to pay professional flyer distributor to distribute? We're totally not obliged to do all these unrelated work ya noe. We did not protest becoz we don't want to end up like that gal who spoilt the laptop (read previous entry), so we chose to do our work quietly and prayed that the days will fly by in tornado speed. Silence doesn't mean we're condoning her blardi commands all right. Go to hell.

So for the rest of they days, i'm just gonna TRY my best to finish up my work. I don't care if i can't do the work that Biatch asked me to becoz I have already tried my best given this short span of time. And i'm not under a contract to work, i'm just an intern on attachment. Attachment programmes states that the internship is only for 10 weeks and at the end of that, i'm going to leave that blardi darn office, no matter what. Pls jus pray for me that i leave UNSCATHED. thanks.

sth serious happened in office today.

apparently, this colleague of mine who was also an NTU yr 2 student who came to work as holiday job, accidentally spilled water onto the company's laptop and caused it to spoil. My boss sent it for repair and it cost more than 1k to fix it. Out of kind gesture, he asked the girl to pay only half of the amount by deducting from her salary.

I wasn't really close to her, just mere acquaintances. But since we all came from same school, we naturally have more to chat about. After this incident, she was rather worried about the compensation. And one day, she told us that she will not pay becoz under the Employement Act, she's nt entitled to pay, and even if she did, she's only require to pay 1/3 of her salary as damages. She said she's goin to tell my boss about this, and upon hearing that, I just knew that this matter will get blown up out of proportions sooner or later.

true enough, she came in today and handled my boss the legal letter. Boy my boss hit the roof and cursed and swore. Me and my fren jus kept quiet and did our work, pretending we did not hear or see anything. Luckily my boss din get rough but he said he would, if not for his friend's face (the gal came into work through my boss' friend). He ordered her to get out of the office and she did, which i tot that was the only thing she could do for now.

Later, my boss called up his friend and shouted vulgarities and said he's not someone to be pushed over and he will try all means to get her out. Out, meaning, he's pursuing the matter to NTU, to her church (apparently to tell her pastor regarding this to show that she wasn't a good Christian, which I dun see the point of doin so. And he was rather disrespectful towards her religion, becoz i really dun see the connection between this matter and her religion) and of course his lawyer.

think this whole thing is getting out of hand, but i hope my boss is jus saying it out of anger. But apparently, he has asked his sources to use all means to complain/sue her.

Talk about politics man. Actually i think it was partly tha gal's fault, becoz she spilled the water onto the laptop and she did verbally agreed that she would compensate, which only then she said she wouldn't pay and quoted the law to my boss. Although the sum wasn't entirely big to her (a couple of hundreds and she's from an affluent family), I tot she might as well jus settle the compensation with her pay. Take it as an experience learnt or wat, dun see any point in taking this matter until so serious.

sure hope me and my friend won't be pulled into this shit. I jus want to quietly and peacefully finish my attachment and leave the company. For good. This is jus too harrowing an experience for me. urgh.

And also, can't agree with him when he scolded that he will complain to her pastor to ask what kind of Christian is she. I mean, what's this gotta do with her religion and her church? So what if we're Christians? Does that mean we're all saints and holy? Obviously not! We all make mistakes, and this is not as if she committed a crime or murder, why does he has to get her church or religion into this. Absolutely ridiculous.

Sometimes i think my boss is just a jackass. He's just concerned about his monies and his face and nthing else. When the gal left the office, he shouted behind her that he's ashamed that she's from NTU also. Bah! C'mon man, she does not deserve all these humiliations to this extent, this is just so ridiculous!

'Nuff said, those peeps goin for internship this coming Dec hols, pls DO NOT put CW Yit & Associates as one of your choices, coz the boss sucked big time!!! I'm goin to do the PA feedback form and rate this company 0 (if there's this number on the scale, or whichever possibly lowest number). However, i don't regret coming here, becoz it's raelly an EYE OPENER. Seriously.

oh time to go home! another disgusting day has ended! tataz~~
