of growing and learning

it's a hair-raising day at work today, screwed up abit of stuff and was rushing to fix it. the feeling wasn't good because i felt i was partly to blame.
in the end i managed to fix it in time and although i was running around like a mad woman in office, i'm glad we've met the deadline and all's good in the end.
thanks to helpful team mates who are always so willing to lend a helping hand.
as i sit and reflect of the day's work that went by, I begin to be amazed at how different my attitude has been over the past 1 year of working in Brisbane.
I used to hate work back in SG, hate the people, the clients and everything I'm doing. It doesn't matter if i've put in 100% because i don't feel i'm being appreciated. Or maybe because i'm just seeking so hard for recognition that i grew tired of waiting for it.
when i first started work here, it was tough adjusting to a totally different kind of work i'm involved in: different work style, colleagues, communication and basically a drastic change. At the back of my mind, I told myself I must keep it together and when reality is way below my expectations, i came crumbling down.
I guess God has really mould me to be who I am now. He taught me to persevere, love, faith and have hope. Of all, I guess my patience thereshold has upped to a whole new level and my work attitude has changed drastically.
I no longer work for people's recognition, i work to honour Him only. I work because I enjoy what I'm doing (even though it maybe frustrating at times) and I always strive to do the best to my abilities.
I guess when you're not too concerned of getting recognition, the whole pressure just waived off and I just somehow do my best and I'm satisfied because I've done everything I can.
So yes, even though I maybe frustrated at things, I may have to work late, I'm still happy and contented because I know I've done my best and God knows :)
I'm thankful for the encouraging work culture here, a simple thank-you or 'good-on-ya!' was enough to brighten up my day. And yes, the fact that we can talk openly to partners is definitely something I really appreciate working here.
I'm blessed and thankful for this opportunity of self-discovery and growing up. Amen! :)
