PS Cafe & Oosh
Had a great evening with nice company, delectable food, nice ambience, good chat and complimentary drinks.
A manager of mine was leaving the firm so together with 2 other of my friends who were her counsellees, we decided to ask her out for dinner and drinks as farewell.
We left promptly at 6pm to Dempsey for PS Cafe and it was my 2nd time there but this time round, it was much brighter and I get to see the nice lushes of green it was surrounded by and honestly, I think is really a good place to laze around on a breezy afternoon.
We ordered mainly from their Menu of the Day: Jap Hog (Pork), Ocean Trout (Salmon), Portobello Mushroom and fries as sides.

The food was nicely done up and the pork, altho tough to cut, but was really chewy and sweet. I tried beetroot for the first time too, red like wine but quite sweet coz it's a fruit. My manager, who's a Swiss, loved it and polished almost all of them!
After which, we ordered choc fudge brownie and berry cheesecake! the former was too sweet for my liking but i loved the cheesecake! Has always been my fave ;)
we then adjourned to Oosh where she treated us to drinks and I ordered my fave Mojito. It's better than the one I had at Cafe del Mar. :)
It was really nice to have her company this evening and hope she has a smooth delivery for her firstborn. :)

late nights

The few late nights this week has been taking a toll on me. My eyes were tired and I'm having back and shoulder aches from sitting too long in front of the computer.
Thankfully my colleagues have been a wonderful company and one enjoyable bunch of people so I guess I'm still willing to slog. hahaha.
Met up with MB last night and Thurs because he's working very late solving his experiments as well. He's really passionate about his work and I'm glad he enjoys wat he's doing. :)
Thurs had dinner at Amici, this authentic Italian restaurant at Holland V (no pics coz the place was too dark). We shared a nice classic Italian pizza, Waldorf salad and liquer-rich tiramisu. Heavenly. :)
Last night, went to pick him at his work place and off to his house to pick up computer parts he's giving to me and then we went to Bt Timah for some suppers.
Tried the other shop that's in the centre, which MB said it's better than the one in front. We shared a Naan set for couple, which has 3 huge flavoured Naans, chicken masala gravy, dahl and 1 tandoori chicken. He had iced milo while I tried Strawberry lassi, a yoghurt drink.
The serving was huge and we had to da bao the Naan back coz we were absolutely too full to gulp down any more flour.
It was a tiring week at work but I totally enjoyed the company I'm with. :)

working with "Andy Lau"
We had a blast at work today! :PApparently we were locked out of our room at client's coz all the spare keys that we had was with the 2 seniors who were back in office in the morning. With nothing much on hand to work on, one of us suggested to have K Lunch at Clementi Central.
It was really an impromptu decision but all of us was so happy and excited! hahaha I guess it's kinda thrilling to 'skive' officially during work (not like we can help it rite? ;)
So off we go and we were the first at 11am! I have a senior who has proclaimed to everyone that he sings exactly like Andy Lau (and sometimes assume his identity as well) so we asked him to prove!! Check out the video below (pls dun scream):
Impressed??? The 3 of us girls were practically shrieking I tell you. Totally can't believe that he can actually sound as good as Andy!! When we switched to Analog on the karaoke, we almost couldn't tell the difference!
Eventually we went back after 3.5hrs of looooooong lunch and all of us were so happy and fulfilled! I love my team sia! :P:P:P

my regular Saturdays
I really love the weekends coz I get to see my baby and spend some quality time together doing our 'usual stuff' ;)
We've been going to East Coast to blade every Saturday for more than a month, and the feeling is great. I feel that my stamina has improved and I can better enjoy the cool breeze brushing against me while I glide effortlessly. He's really happy too that I've re-picked up this hobby of ours since the very first time we met. (Did I mention that blading brought us together? ;)

It's kinda like reminiscing again those times when we just started out and it feels nice and all warm and fuzzy when we hold hands as we glide. I guess I'm beginning to fall in love with this sport coz as MB puts it, it's more carefree than cycling and easier than jogging *winkz* :P
It's used to be out in the open fields outside National Stadium, and now they have air-con!
It's so fortunate to be a soldier in S'pore :P
Check ME out!!!
Blading in the evening is really cooling. Although we still perspire but it's not as sticky as it was during the day. My butt was aching after we ended our session at 8pm (of course with the slip on my way back as well *sheesh*) But it was all worthwhile! Felt really fresh and alert after the excercise, never been better! ;)
And guess what? The rain continued just after we drove out of ECP and it was raining before we started. God is good ;)

TGFG (thank God for Girlfriends!)
Thank God for my girlfriends!!!! :PHe must have heard my prayers on Friday coz I was able to leave client's place at 7pm to meet up with the girls for dinner!! *grinzz*
My timing was jus nice, coz they had jus settled down and only started looking thru the menu.
Dinner was on the house, courtesy of Jiesi, who kept her promise of giving us a treat when she gets her pay!
We had a lovely time indulging ourselves in fresh assorted sashimi, their famous kamameshi rice sets, vege pancake, salmon cheese spring rolls and of course not forgetting their delectable desserts!!! We ordered the must-haves of tofu cheesecake, fujiyama (green tea ice-kachang) and black sesame pudding. None of them except me has eaten at Sun with Moon so it was quite a pleasant visit I must say. :D
After which, we walked around to get Jiesi's belated birthday present, a new Nike sports bra! Glad we got her what she needed :)
We decided to rest our feet and comfortably plonked ourselves at Nude Supper Club @ Wisma for some nice chit-chats and cocktails.
Seriously, I really dun forsee myself drinking with my girlfriends, coz from the time I knew them, I was the first one who got in touch with alcohol (when I turned 18) and both Jiesi and Lenglee has expressed strong objections before in visiting clubs or drinking booze. So I was really on alcohol-high when I actually was able to sit down and chill with them! :P Can't wait for more of such sessions, lovin' it!

Clockwise from top left:
LengLee with her maiden drink - Lime Maguerita (too bad the mixture was quite bad and the drink was rather choking); Jiesi's Strawberry Kiss (mixed with brandy which has quite a good after taste); Sujun's Cosmopolitan (real smooth Martini, def my fave for the night) and my Sex on the Beach (too fruity, like some kind of super expensive fruit punch)

It was a really good night of chats and laughters. Although Jiesi always come and go like a gust of wind, I really appreciate the times we spent together and of course our dear Winne is coming back from her exchange soon!! Can't wait for her to catch up on the times we've missed each other. :)

What is Hell? (bored Auditor post)
When you start becoming an AUDITOR, and you begin to accustom to the kind of life you're leading/going to lead, sometimes you just can't help but have occupational hazards e.g.: associating things with technical jargons such as 'materiality', 'comfort', 'assurance', 'suggest leave' and so on ( I can go on for 1 hr but I think I'd rather not :)So, this has got to be the DARNDEST auditor joke I've read so far. I dedicate to all my auditor friends:
One politician, One thief & One PWC employee died & went straight to hell.
Politician said "I miss my country. I want to call my country and see how
everybody is doing there." She called and talked for about 5 minutes, and
then she asked "Well, devil how much I need to pay for the call????
The devil says "Five million dollars".
The Politician wrote him a cheque and went to sit back on her chair.
Thief was so jealous, he starts screaming, "My turn! I wanna call the my
group members, I want to see how everybody is doing there too"
He called and talked for about 2 minutes, and then he asked "Well, devil,
how much do I need to pay for the call????
The devil says "Ten million dollars".
With a smug look on his face, he made a cheque and went to sit back on his
chair.
PWC employee was even more jealous & starts screaming, "I want to call my
office friends, managers and partners ",
He called other PWC employees and he talked for twenty hours about his
audit files and jobs what are the new clients, he talked & talked & talked,
then he asked "Well, devil how much do I need to pay for the call????
The devil says "Twenty dollars".
PWC employer is stunned & says "Twenty dollars??? Only??"
Devil says

start of a new 'year'
well, it's the first working week of july and the start of our new financial year!I'm officially an A2 now, which only means more job responsibilities, heavier work load but of course HIGHER pay! :)
I'm thankful that I was able to see some salary increment when I'm only into the 10th month on this job. So it's not too bad after all ;)
Was initially booked on a job that was to be stationed in office and i tot how wonderful it can be to just slack around before my BIG job (5-weeks stint at Bt Timah with a not so nice client) next week. But lo and behold, I was 'summoned' to this job at Woodlands for 1 week.
Well, obviously I dun have a choice so I just went ahead.
But well it turns out to be a blessing in disguise! I noe one of the other A2 on that job and she's nice and friendly. Plus there's an intern guy from NTU and a quite chio Team In-charge on the job as well.
Our team was practically crazy, coupled with crazy client (but she's one helluva lady, SUPER friendly) who cracks jokes on the first day I reported for work. I was quite taken aback at her attitude and only responded with a politically-correct smile. But after 3 days, knowing the 'pattern' of the client and the audit team better, I began to loosen up and eventually laughed my head off! Even the client commented that I loosen up after 3 days. :P
During this week, I also found out something about myself: I'm more capable in my work and level of technical knowledge has improved as well! *grinz* I felt proud that I understand my work and can even guide my intern on the stuff to do and provide some opinion to my fellow A2 when she has doubts. It felt great knowing what I was doing now, unlike the kind of confusion I was experiencing many months ago.
I guess, I did grow up and learn something during the past 10 months. And I've actually start to like my job already (minus long working hours). I've learnt to work more efficiently and adopted the 'on-the-ball' attitude towards my work. I guess I'm slowly building up my level of satisfaction, and I'm thankful to Him for making all these possible. :)
