Post-Peak Bash @ MOS

Had a fun time on Friday night at MOS with my PwC pals!

We were told to perform an item and initially, it was suppose to be some kind of competition but ended up there were only us and the other batch of associates performing! Felt conned into it, but then again, it was quite fun to be doin it with the rest!

Honestly, I felt the bash was kinda sucky, coz the programme was so short (3 performances in abt 20 minutes??) and plus the Techno room which they booked was really not my kind of music. Plus drinks were not that nice, altho they put in more vodka then soft drink. :/

anyway, I think I enjoyed the process much more than the results! We even rehearsed till 10+ pm the day before and honestly, although many of us were tired from work, i think we really had a great load of fun playing together!

Having dinner @ China Sq; at MOS (which will be my first and last time!)

Anyway, next week will be a short one coz of May Day! can't wait to catch Spiderman 3 with MB!! Plus, Jiesi will be back from China for 1 week and Leng Lee will be finishing her exams on Monday too!!! and my long-awaited seafood @ JB Taman Sentosa!~~

Haha totally can't wait for next week man! Till then, hope everyone had a good weekend! :)

my new hobby

Haha you must be wondering what have I gotten myself into?

I've decided to provide some 'nourishment' to my rather dried-up brain (work, sleep, eat and work) by picking up a book to read during my leisure time.

I wanted something easy to read, funny and most of all, light-hearted. Didn't want to spend money to get new ones, coz I've quite a fair bit of new books kept in my cupboard and I really think, I should sell to some 2nd-hand store or something (they're chinese novels btw, by HK female writer 深雪. Anybody fancies her work? Willing to let go almost her entire collection.. Tag me! :P).

So I browsed around the library looking for nice books and I remembered my fren told me that the Shopaholic series is quite interesting, although I think most of you should have read it some time back. But all I can find at the library, is a torn and tattered one, which realli smells awful that I had to put it back to the shelves and can't bear another glance at it.

So I tried Popular instead and saw some nice ones like The Nanny Diaries, new book by Mitch Albom and Jodie Picoult series. But when I saw the price tag, the interest faded. It cost about 17 to 18 bucks for one paperback! I mean I think i'll probably finish it in 3-4 days, and then stash it somewhere in the cupboard, completely forgotten about it, and in the NEAR future, might just chanced upon it when I'm decluttering. So why bother??!

So N-O. I decided to pick up a book from Kor and started reading Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. And it was a BAD choice. The starting few pages were SO simliar to Da Vinci Code. Same protagonist, same plot and basically it's totally Da Vinci. It was such a pain to read that I fell asleep after 5min.

Luckily my senior lent me the Shopaholic Abroad novel and she highly recommends it! Goodness, I tell you, I was quite hooked on it and was basically reading regardless whether I was walking from NEL to the North-South line at Dhoby Gaut or when I was waiting for the feeder bus to come! *grinz*

Even though my eyes were tired, I'd still read it jus so I can know what's the ending like. Kinda feel like those times when I was busy chasing Taiwan dramas. :P:P

and I finished the book! Like what, 3 days? That's only those times in the morning and evening when i'm travelling to work and home. I think it's quite an achievement don't u think? :P

Point of the entry is, does anyone has the rest of the Shopaholic series to lend me???? :P Or any other nice reads, that is funny, witty and light-hearted. I think I need these kind of genres to make myself laugh a little and feel good. Hehs :D

Ok, that's all for now. and Hoi, hope you enjoyed my entry ;)

the 26 year old that looks like 18 :P

birthday boy

who else am I referring to but the BOY above? :P

It's MB's 26th birthday today!!!! My oh my, he sure is looking younger as he ages! (errr, doesn't sound right but heck! :P)

Met up in town after work and hopped to Sun with Moon Japanese Dining Cafe! I've been to this place a couple of times and this is the 2nd time I'm visiting again with MB. Think he also agree with me that they serve real neat Jap food! Even Japs visit this restaurant, so it can't be that bad rite? ;)

It was already quite crowded when we arrived before 7pm. Glanced thru the menu and saw some new a la carte on their menu. THESE are what we ordered:

yums @ Sun with Moon

Yeah, I know. The number of items and servings are ALARMING for 2 people. I just din noe why but I just feel like eating everything they have to offer on the menu! Everything jus seems so delicious and I had to try ALL! :P

So in the end, after much 'struggle', we ordered a Grape Soda and Grape yoghurt drink that was really refreshing and light, especially with the main course; their new offering Curry Cheese!!! Can you see the amount of cheese that was covering the pot? Goodness, it was as if we were eating those malt candy you see during pasar malam sia! Real thick and yummy, and who cares about the FAT??!!

We also ordered fried prawn sushi which was really good coz the prawn was so juicy; smooth cha soba: Have you evar seen before cha soba served on one WHOLE bowl of shaved ice?? Only they do. :P They also offered sesame and shredded seaweed into the bowl of seasoning for the nooodles. Simply lovely :)

And not forgetting their famous rice pot which comes with the sand timer. Ordered their classic yakinuku beef and it's still so fragrant and nice! Ingredients were aplenty, the chef is always so generous with their beef and there's chestnuts too! Yums~ :P

We actually were quite filled after the drink, but when the waitress asked if we wanted the desserts, I simply can't resist to order their famous Fujiyama aka Green Tea Ice Kachang!!!

Look at their huge green 'Fuji mountain'!!!! It's soooo refreshing and light that you don't feel sinful at all. It's surrounded with balls of japanese muah chee, mango dices and fresh red beans. Definitely healthier than those we normally eat... but these bowl of shaved ice cost us 10 bucks =X

Anyhoos, the much satiated dinner cost us a neat 80bucks, but I think it's totally worth it! This gotta be one of the nicest dinners around, esp with my loved one! :P Shall bring Ugin's parents to try out during Mother's Day and then we can try their yellowtail sashimi! *salivate* :P

It was great evening out with MB and this dinner more than compensate for the couple of late nights he has been burning to rush out his FYP. Poor boy, eyes so small already, now plus eye bags and dark eye rings, I almost can't make out if he's actualy sleeping while looking at me!!! =X

A birthday wish for him: Score an A for his FYP and get 2nd Upp Honours! :P Let's just hope this is the wish that will come true soon! ;)

Time to remorse on the carbs I've indulged in earlier... Nitez! *waves*

What a pleasant surprise to see this lovely postcard on my table when I got back.

Kind of brought back some good ol' childhood memories of me snatching the Tintin comic book with my brother!

Thanks to lovely Huimin for sending this from London! Dear ger went to Belgium for short trip and got me this postcard coz that's where Tintin originated. (Bet you din noe, neither do I! :P)

Too bad I din manage to receive Jiesi's birthday card too! Must've gotten lost in the air/sea/land en route from China to SG. (That shows that Brits are better postmen den Chinese!) *grinz*

our 4th year.... and counting :)

4th anniversary collage

It's amazing how we managed to come so far. Yet all the times we've spent together always seemed so memorable and happy, as if we've just known each other.

The past 1 year was eventful, having graduated, going on our Phuket diving trip and me starting on my first job.

You were always there to listen to my complaints, even though half the time, you don't really understand why I'm so upset about.

I realised your presence has made a significant impact on my life and whenever I looked back at those years when I haven found you, I almost always wonder, what kind of life was I having back then?

I guessed many of my pals have witnessed that how much I was loved by you and how blessed I am to have known you.

Thank YOU, for making my life ever so wonderful, and everything so blissful. I'm truly greatful to the Lord for your presence.

I know there are many more years to come and I can't wait to go through it with you for as long as we can :)

Happy 4th year Anniversary darling, I love you so much. *muacks*

As the clock turns 12:01am, let's welcome the start of our 5th year together ;)

***At 2.30am, 5th Apr 2007***

MB made this video for me, and my tears just flowed down uncontrollably...

This has got to be the sweetest thing he's ever done...

I feel so loved..... :)

Ben's Birthday + 'Belated' Surprise

ben's bday - 040407

Me and Sin met up to celebrate Ben's birthday with him!

What more can you expect when you can eat a super loooong lunch on a lazy and sunny afternoon with your pals on a WEEKDAY?? :P

I totally had a great time chatting up and suan-ning the birthday boy (as usual) and plus, managed to deh him into treating us LUNCH + COFFEE!!! *grinz* :D

ben's bday - 040407

Ben's quite 'sore' that we actually emptied his wallet! (P/S: we're GOOD PALS rite??? *winkz*)

Anyway, me and Sin only met up a few minutes before we meet up with Ben to shop for his present. Luckily guys' presents are only that few: shirt, ties, wallets, cuff links, socks, facial wash and yah, that's all :P So we managed to get him a nice black tie from Tangs and 6 pairs of Hush Puppies socks that he can wear from Monday to Saturday! (the socks literally had a label for each day! hahahaha)

It's really cool to be hanging out with the 2 guys and I had my decent dosage of laughter from the 2 of them. :P:P:P

Ok 2nd part of this entry is the 'belated' surprise I got from my bestest pal, Jie Si!!!

Well, you see I actually 'requested' her to send me a birthday card from China but the mail din came thru up till today. There's seriously sth wrong with the posting system somewhere, and I do pray and hope I get it by this week!! *prays hard*

So Jie Si kept asking me if I had received the card which I obviously didn't, and she said to me this morning via MSN that there's actually a birthday surprise in the card.

Well I din take note of that and when I came home and open the mailbox (no i STILL din receive her card! Give me my birthday card!!!! *grrrr*), and saw my bank statement.

Normally, I'd jus take a quick glance and throw it away (since I also check via Internet Banking) but somehow, thur 'divine intervention' or sth (thank GOD), I took more than a 'mere glance' and noted that I actually had an extra $100 deposited in my bank on my birthday!

And the transferor was none other than Jie Si!!! Initially I had tot she must've pressed the wrong button or set some wrong settings to transfer money, but on 2nd thots, I suspected that this could be the birthday surprise she was referring to!

omg, you really cannot see how surprised and shocked my expression was. I was really 感动 that she actually gave me a 100 bucks as birthday present! This has gotta be the first time a friend has actually gave me money. I mean seriously, I'm not greedy or what, but I just felt really touched that she bothered to make this effort for me and I really appreciate it. :)

Jie Si said she meant it to be her 'donation' towards my Taipei trip in May and thanks to her kind 'donation' and my parents, now I can really go Taipei to shop till I drop!!! *wahahah* :D

But dun worry babe, I'll def get something fantastic for u too! :P Thanks loads girl, you really made my day and I think this has got to be the BESTEST birthday present I've ever received!! Will remember this year's birthday for very long! *hugzzz*

me and my couz

Met up with my bestest couz for lunch on Monday and went home together yesterday too!

It's been such long time since we actually sat down to eat and chat since she came back from Aussie..

I guessed we really go back a long way, right when we were playmates and always visit each other's house to play some silly games like using mattresses to stack as house to camp and others. (oh my brother played with us too! CHILDISH!! *wahahaha* :D)

A lot of things has occurred in our lives and I must say I'm very thankful that we're still kept in contact and still on rather good terms.

It was all so nostalgic once again to find back that certain familiarity on her and I really appreciate her kind thoughts and concerns all these years.

hey babe, jus wanna tell you that I love you!!!! *muacks* :D

a happy man :)

Went to town ystd with MB to get a new phone for him. After browsing around, he was really tempted to get the newly released Sony Ericsson W880i phone, which I agreed, is a very sleek and cool phone to have.

But the price is very 'pretty' too. After trading in his CMI K700i of 3.5 yrs for 60 bucks, he still has to pay $590 to get THE phone. Forget it man, that's so totally gonna burn a huuuuge hole in my pocket.

So in the end, we finally settled on the K800i, the nice allure brown which MB chose:

Goodbye k700i.. and Hello k800i :D

MB is a happy man because he gets a FREE phone from me. But then again, it's for our anniversary and his birthday in the next 2 weeks, so I guessed it's quite worth it :)
