Awards Nite

My kor was receiving an award at his company's annual Awards Nite ystd, for being able to sell some certain number of policies and total value exceeded some benchmark (which I'm not too sure).
Our whole family was invited (of which I attended reluctantly, coz I dun really like such functions unless I'm the one who's receiving it ;P), so everyone was dressed formally and arrived at DBS Auditorium at around 5.30pm.
Buffet had started already so we got ourselves some food. Like my mum said, the food wasn't fantastic, of which I agree totally. U noe those kind of buffet food, that you would only eat one round and before u even wipe out ur plate, u wan to throw it into the bin already. Yah it's act q bad :/ (but it's FREE lar, so bo bian also...)
Anyway, we were 'stoning' away at the recep area while my Kor 'pranced' around (literally) taking photos with all his colleagues. I suspect their over-enthusiasm and perhaps zealous behaviour was due to their working style (you noe how those financial advisers at roadshows have to constanly keep smiling and ask ppl if they're interested to get a policy?).
Ok i may sound disapproving towards my kor's job, but I'm not. I dun mind him doing anything as long as he enjoys it and is fulfiling for him. I'm jus commenting on the fact that, for people like ME, who altho loves to interact with people and stuff, am SO NOT cut out for such kind of job, let alone a career.
So we only start to enter the auditorium at around 7pm and I had thot they wud start with the award ceremony pretty soon. But to my utter dismay, they had loads of programmes or to quote Bisheng, 'fillers' in between, and there were actually 2 intermissions!!! The whole thing lasted till God-knows-when (we left at 1030pm during the 2nd intermission coz I was super pissed off at their severe lack of time management). Even a superstar concert doesn't last that LONG!!! *faints*
Secondly, I dun really like their corporate culture especially the leadership style of the boss, whom in my opinion, is using very drama-mama persuasion tactics to let his advisers believe that they MUST slog it out in order to provide for their parents. Ok, i agree that everyone shud work hard towards their goal and career, but NOT with the ultimate intention of providing for the family rite? I mean, it's not as if we're so POOR until we're in dire straits or wat, he don't really hafta say until to such extreme yah?
What's worse, he even played a section of the I Not Stupid movie, where the little boy's mum, Xiang Yun, passed away in hospital after hearing that her son got 2nd in an art competition, then he passed around the sheet of paper with the song in the movie, and asked those who brought their family, to stand up and look at them and sing the song!!! Btw, the song was called 内疚 or guilt. I think the boss can go and be Mediacorp producer liao!!!!
Alrite, I shan't say too many bad things about his company, after all, he's the one who enables my kor to earn big bucks next time... :P Perhaps I'm jus abit biased towards insurance companies, jus can't understand how they can be so over-enthu for such long hours and WHOLE career also? To me, everything abt it is jus a facade....
'Nuff said, we took some nice pics that nite too... Which, brought some redeeming factors to the whole nite spent (till my tail bone ached abit :S)

Our whole family... Hmm, looked as if my Kor was getting married or sth..

my Kor and I.. I had another photo of us in the same position during his OCS POP. I changed ALOT!!! :P
