first day of work at my attachment company and i was almost late.
My stupid new shoe dun haf padding on the sole, so when i wanted to walk faster, it felt as if I was about to slip.
Ok lame excuse, i shud haf gotten up earlier. No, i should haf slept earlier last nite. Wateva.
Ok reached the co, and the other 2 interns were there alr, but I wasn't late. The boss was there also, a young man in mid-thirties, also an Acc grad from NTU. He spent almost 1hr toking n chit chatting to us coz he said he forgot his employees only come in at 10am for work. Nabeh.
And so he started talking to us. At one point in time, I felt he couldn't think of anything to say liao den go and tok abt nonsense, like there are alot of pubs n restaurants at our place, and used to haf a lot of gays... blah blah... how he can act like a gangster when he meet with difficult clients, the co also deals with durian sellers, temples, and kept on emphasizing their track record include Hooters (at least mentioned 4 times, including 2 other lady partners), Save the Planet ("A subsidiary of Hour Glass, you know, Jannie Tay", finishing off with a smug look. urgh) and "other big companies that I could not remember" (if they're big cos, y can't u remember them! I wonder if they're BIG in the first place. bah.)
anyway, not saying that the first day is all sucky and wat. They treated us to lunch at this Chi restaurant opened by HK chef.. hah i love free meals! :P After that, got down to serious business... I was assigned to one of the partners, this petite lady called Yvonne, who deals mainly in auditing and another colleague, a Myanmar lady called Ei Ei (pronounced as yi-yi). So they taught me how to use MYOB (the famous user-friendly acctg software) and I started some auditing work by keying some financial data inside for audting later on.
So basically that's how the 1st day of work went. Oh and the other 2 lady partners kept telling us that Steven (my boss) dun like people who knock off on the dot one, becoz it's as if he/she is dying to leave the office. (who dun wan to go home early?? siao!) So although i was longing for 6pm to come, i had to 'force' myself to do beyond that 'official' time. But i cleared my work for today, tomolo has more stuff to do and the boss handed me the office keys to open the door tom morn!!! shiat, that means i mus be earlier than 9pm liao... tamade.
oh and the people there dun relly haf a strict dress code one, so i think i can wear other tops besides standard blouses n skirt to work tom. The only comforting part for today. sighzzz..
