it finally grew!!

we have long been wanting to grow some plants ourselves so that we can have the convenience of fresh herbs and plants to go with our cooking.

and then Eug took time and tender loving care for our first chilli plant - when all hope was lost (he thought the seeds all died), we found 2 budding sprouts rushing out from the soil for fresh breath of sunlight and oxygen!

Before long we can have our very own chilli plant!!! :D

it wasn't by accident that I was sick at home (serious case of stomach upset) that I catch the courier man dropping this lovely parcel!

I seriously didn't expect receive something from the mail and in come this great cookbook "How to Cook EVERYTHING" from my dearest SN sisters - ah si, sujun, winne and lenglee!!

The book is awesome man! There are so many things i can try out at home and i'm sure it'll keep me occupied for the next few YEARS *lols*

turning 25

Yes, albeit it's hard to key in the two digits that signify the change in age, i'm still glad that I'm now a quarter-century old!! :D

It's been a very special birthday for me this year - being away from my family, away from home and away from my very dear friends.

nonetheless, God has been blessing me with so many friends in my life and the luxury of spending this year's birthday with an added touch of romance *winkz*

Eug brought me (or rather i suggested :P) to this nice seafood place up at Redcliffe bay and because it's autumn now, the sun set really early and by the time we reach at 7pm for our reservation, it was already dark and the sky was threatening.

nonetheless, i was rather excited - my faint heart pumping faster than usual as I drove ourselves there. it has been some time since we went out on a nice date all dressed up and really making a point to make dinner reservations for a nice quiet time together.


The seafood was awesome! we had half a dozen of oysters as entree, then we each ordered moreton bay bugs (or crayfish) and a tapas of salmon, barramundi and scallop. we then had pistachio cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. by the time we left, we were fully satiated and the rain had reduced to slight drizzle.

wished we can linger around more to the beach but the cold strong winds wouldn't allow us.

It was a really nice time spending with Eug and i can't wait for our Easter get-away trip to Mount Tambourine for spa!!

dinner with the ladies

finally the 4 of us managed to catch up again after month-long of hiatus!

Although we kept in touch via email but it's the face time that matters ;)

Was so good to meet up with maria especially (since i saw mei and zoe every fri for cell? :P) and wagamama is really nice!!


P/S: I love the new Picasa 3! It allows me to do photo collages like this with much ease! :P

cell retreat 2009

it was an awesome time catching up with everyone and spending the weekend in amazing worship and everyone can feel the strong presence of God in the room speaking wonders through each and everyone of us!

blessed

i'm feeling very blessed to have my family and friends showing so much love~~~~ :D

Our cell retreat over the weekend was awesome! it was a great way to bond with everyone and God's presence was very strong and He's been speaking prophetically to each and everyone of us :)

Thank God for these pals because they really helped me to grow in the Lord's presence *bliss* :)

autumn

AUTUMN is here before u know it!

It slowly creeps into those people who still yearn for that sunlight glazing their skin and the luxury of tank tops, hot pants and mini skirts.

The sun sets earlier now, the sky gets darker, the wind cooler and the rain more frequent.

People start to wear thicker clothings, black stockings, boots and trench coats.

Ahhhh, it's really autumn.

Where has my summer gone to??? It slips through my fingers even before I know it :/

P/S: On another note, i'm so happy that i found a dear old friend. I duno what happened to your life, but i'm really glad you're back on track again. Life will be great from now on and your experience will make you a better person. :) Stay true to your heart and be the person whom u want to be because that's how life should be ;)

stop worrying, start praying

of late, i've been faced with many challenges and struggles at work, both work and people related.

i've been trying to be upbeat about it but there are times when u just want to give up and surrender.

thanks to Joanne (my dear housemate) who shared with me her experiences and also encourage me, i really felt much better after our conversation last night.

and this morning, God spoke to me with these beautiful verses:

Philippians 4:6-7 (New Living Translation)

⁶ Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. ⁷ Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Received my results last Fri for the 2 bridging units which i was studying for: 2 DISTINCTIONS!!!

Now i can finally start on my CA programmer in June.

a letter from the son

Received this in my email this morning and I thought it was some kind of a forwarded email, only to realise it was written by my dear brother to my dad!

Pa,

I observe that you are getting a bit fatter already. Haha, think you haven been going exercising for a while.

Will get lethargic and high inertia to move out of the house once a person gets fat, heavier to move around ma.

This year you will be turning 60years old le. I personally think that turning 60 is a new 20 years old. Cos you still have another 20 years ahead of you at least.

Hence I hope before you turn 60 can put kick some bad habits and cultivate some good ones.

1. Don’t eat bread, biscuits, milo etc all the carbo food after 8pm, they make you grow fat
2. Do eat your dinner at 7pm even when mom is not cooking, go out and buy la
3. Do take the bicycle out to cycle around punggol (to the punggol beach maybe?) once in a while, if not change the tyres for wat?
4. Do go downstairs to the open space to exercise a bit, if not we move from AMK to Punggol for wat?
5. Do cycle to sengkang sport hall to swim or gym once in a while since it’s newly open and it’s so near our house
6. Do not lye on the couch so often, because after a while you won’t want to do any of the above 2-5 except for 1 when you are hungry..

I play badminton quite often now, next time we can go tog so you can exercise abit.

Haha the email turns out to be a big lengthy, I also cc to sis so that she can nag u a bit after she comes back. Hope you can loose some weight, stay healthy, so that you can prepare for your next 20 years when you step in to 60!
