wah~~~

wat a nice weekend but the darn weather is really hot that I kept perspiring!!!~~ :(

but shoudl haf gone to the beach to suntan lar, such nice weather...shall ask Geok to go sun tan w me soon!! :D when i finish work I'm gonna get a whole 'makeover', go suntan, highlight my hair, trim my brows, slim down abit before school starts!! :D

something nice happened at work too....nono, nice is an understatement man, it's sth really worth celebrating!! hahah, i was complaining about this assignment I was re-doing right? hha, my asst finance mgr, Ivy came to check on my progress on Friday and we both discovered another faster method that will reduce my workload by 90%!! That means I'm saying goodbye to goin through all the pains to finish it!!! woohoo!! so excited man, was so scared that I can't finish it else I'll hafta stay on longer and I can't go for my advance diving course liao...phew, thank God for blessing and seeing me through!!

I hope to learn more stuff during my last 2 weeks at Fullerton, realised I din exactly learn alot lidat, coz been doin all those routine stuff, hope that I can learn sth more than the routine but I guess it's q diff ba. Financial year end closing coming also, guess everyone in office will be so busy..I jus hope I can lend a helping hand to them!! :)

Next week gonna be interesting too!!~~ Gonna watch Eternal Sunshine of A Spotless Mind with Huimin (yes! she's back from Big Ben!! :P) and the Starlight Cinema at Fort Canning on Thurs w Ugin!! haha maybe Sat catch another Spiderman II!!! wah 3 shows in a week!! woohoo!! :P

I wish that everyone will be as happy as me always!!! Bless Him!!

kena 'scolded' by hOi and tif today for not blogging frequently...;D

aiyah, so tired these few days and abit lazy to blog, besides nothing great happened, unlike tif who is busy goin out for breakfast/lunch/dinner/supper with all her frens since she came back from Aussie and hOi, who is also slacking at home now since she stopped work...i wher got free time like them??? :)

another 2 more weeks lidat, I'll be leaving Fullerton Hotel..time really flies man..Geok jus left yesterday, den next Fri, Pearlin also, den week after next, it's my turn. My colleagues were still saying how come like every week got ppl leave lidat, so sad man...:) haha, really nice to work w this bunch of ppl..Peong, Yvonne, Yongming, Kianwee, Mohana, Domino, Ivy, Pearlin, Christina, Lily, Audrey, Evelyn. The whole Finance Department is so full of nice and funny people!!!

Oh i've actually taken some photos w Geok and Pearlin they all ysterday but haf yet to upload, wait till i'm more free lar huh?? :D

been busy planning wat I'm goin to do w my hols these 2 days..Mum says wan to go Koh Samui (in Thailand) after I come back from diving!! woohoo! That is such a beautiful place man, my kind of beach holidays!!! But not confirmed if we're still going coz heard that most of the flights on the dates that we're keen on going are q booked, gotta try asking around again...Wanted to go Samui to dive also, but Ugin calculated it's around SGD$1,000 lidat if we go there to dive, even more ex than Perhentian lo, might as well go Perhentian, since it's also as nice as Samui...:)

But I see how first, think maybe i go on leisure trip w mummy and daddy (think they sponsoring me :D) first lo. Next yr den go Perhentian to dive with Ugin!!! :D

oh and my best pal, Hui Min, is coming back soon....in fact in less than 20hrs, she'll touch down from UK!!! Yeah!! Can't wait to see and hug her! We've go so many things to say man, loads of catching up to do!!! :D

Hee can see I'm so excitied huh? coz I'm goin to spend my hols soon!!! Samui! Here I Come!!!!~~~~~

so sleepy today...@@_@@

yesterday's wedding was quite a disappointment coz most of us had expected to be quite a grand or at least a better one..

i actually went to buy a new skirt and new top for the wedding coz i was told by my aunt that we were to do the reception so should wear sth nice and proper rite?

probably i expected TOO much already, coz it was q different from cous Karen's one a few years back..

For one thing, it was way TOO simple...i mean the wedding was held at Chevron's ballroom which I haven't been to, so I tot it won't be that bad from those hotels ballrooms rite? But turned out that it IS that bad. There weren't any decorations or flowers at the reception table, u have to walk thru an L-shaped corridor to the ballroom and the corridor was very messy. Next the couple jus came in, pop the champagne, cut the cake and returned to their seats to eat dinner. No speech, no wedding photos or ppt slideshows....no hoo-has...REAL simple..den they changed another outfit and came in simply, sat down at their table again, took photos w each table, no yum-seng as well. And when we came to the dessert already, we saw ppl from other tables alr stood up leaving the place. We were like "huh? finished already??" and yup, the newly-weds were standing at the door waiting to shake ur hands and thank you for coming before u leave the ballroom.

oh man, it's really not wat i had expected. I mean my aunt was saying that she need receptionists, usherers and stuff, made it sound like it's gonna be so crowded and have loads of guests coming in lidat. but turns out that they're less than 20 tables and many of the groom's friends arrived so late. Everything ended in a v simple way in 2 hrs time.

If I had known it was lidat, i won't bother to spend money to buy new clothes alr, jus grab watever's presentable and jus wear it, heck man.

I wonder if my cous had wanted it this way, a simple wedding. Or maybe their budget is abit tight so they dun wan to spend so much on the wedding. But i stil feel that the place (Chevron) as well as the food was really sub-standard, there's lack of sincerity in inviting guests.

I kept telling my other cous who sat w us that I'll make sure in future my wedding will NEVER be lidat. At least, not at Chevrons.

went to shop right after work today, kinda tired alr but I'm still short of a nice top to go w the skirt i bought at Zara for my cous wedding tomolo. ahah and mummy's paying so of course i wud wan to tag along rite? but i dun wan to spend too much also lar, coz mummy also work v hard, not nice to spend her money when I'm earning myself rite? :)

so we walked alot from Millenia to Takashimaya...poof! so tiring sia, can't imagine walking ard jus to get one top but i ended up getting 2 tops coz mum said the other one was nice one me so she got it for me! so nice! :P

can't wait for tomolo!!! it's my cous, Allan's wedding!! hee:P we'll go to aunt's house in the morning for the tea ceremony den in the evening I'll hafta help out at the reception to welcome all the guests! hee:P nv do it before, hope it's not too bad...:P can't wait to wear nice nice and immersed myself in the joyous occasion!!

ok gotta go for beauty sleep, shall try to blog more when I come back from the tea ceremony...Feel like getting married myself liao...hee =X

hohoho!!!

today was a great day, partly becoz i had a gd nite's rest i suppose, was well and awake the whole day and loads of fun joking around and laughing w my colleagues!! they're a really nice bunch of ppl, was q apprehensive initially when we were working tog, turns out that I really enjoy their company everyday! and they also taught me loads of stuff and always count me in when they had luncheons or outings! so nice!! thank God for blessing my fortune everyday! Bless Him! :D

My dearest cous, Tiffany, came back from Perth ystd and the first thing when she touched down was to deliver fresh Apple Strudel from Down Under to me!! whoa! so touched man, i'm the first person she met (other than her bf who went to picked her up lar)!!!! so nice to see her agen, still the same old bubbly Tif, din put on much weight also, real nice to see her agen...

It's really a wonder how extreme and drastic u can experience when you're sending off dear ones and welcoming them back. I used to feel real sad and really cried my heart out when my close friends leave for studies or wat, even if my parents or my brother goin for holiday, i would also feel this sense of sadness rushing through me that forces me to break into tears. I love/ hate the airport, coz it precisely have me these 2 kind of feeling. I would be so excited when i see my dear ones coming back, coz i noe i've missed them so so so much...

it's so nice to have Tif back home agen, and next Fri Minmin is coming home too! and she's gonna stay until late Sept before she go back to UK for her new semester! Great! We can bake and chat tog agen!! woohoo!!

and tomolo it's my bestest bud, Jie Si's 20th Birthday! Happy Birthday dearie!! Tho you're far far away in Yellowstone but I still hope you can receive my warm wishes!! HOpe you haf a fantabulous birthday celebration at the rustic and picturesque Yellowstone National Park and let that be an unforgettable one!! :D

wah, today is really a good day, super good mood and super good company. Real hope everyday would be like today, so cheerful and so much worth anticipating.. May God bless this day..:)

sigh got one big problem now...

it's my NTU Chinese Society stuff...sighz, duno how to call the sponsors and email them our proposals. I'm like working and i don't haf a telephone on my desk lo. Only able to make some phone calls the other day, and i only got lucky for 2 of them coz they jus came back from lunch, the rest ask me to call after 2pm or wat, but i'm alr back to work and my colleagues all come back liao how to call???

sighz, and by the time i go home ppl alr knock off lo and me gotta work on Sat also, really duno how to make phone calls to find sponsors man...:(

and worse, me still don't have sub-commers lo!!! aargh! shit man, everyone got ppl help them do things liao, i called 2 of the girls the other day but they said they wan to go for publicity instead. wah lau, i'm stuck w this myself!!!! oh help!!

sigh, tom shall try my luck agen, hope my colleagues dun come back so early from their lunch den i can make phone calls more discreetly....sighzz...

so long nv blog liao....sorry! :D

went down to blade the couple of nights after dinner coz I wan to tone down some of my 'die-hard' fats in preparation for my cousin, Allan's wedding next Sun! I'm the receptionist at the wedding leh! haha, so mus look presentable mar..my other 2 cousins will be accompanying me but they've all got slimmer figures than me, so I wud be bound to look fat beside them. so mus go on DIET!!!

but v hard leh, i try to eat less liao but end up I was even more hungry before lunch and almost passed out! *shudders* also resorted to drinking lots of water to make myself feel bloated to get rid of the hungry pangs but not seeing much results...sigh...

guess i haf to make use of clothes and color to attempt to make myself look slimmer...haha :)

jus finished my project at work!! yeah!! can finally take a breather liao and back to the seng nang days...haha :D found that my colleagues are all v friendly ppl, which is good lo, less of those politics lar, was still quite worried but i'm gradually warming up to them le, so i love their company!

esp Peong, our income auditor, never fails to make me giggle until my stomach hurts. Not that he always say farni things (in fact it was q corny!) but the looks on his face is really v farni...*grin*

feel that i'm quite lucky to work in 2 good companies, the previous SES and Fullerton Hotel now. THank God for looking out for me, he really answered all my prayers! Bless Him!

Oh yah, Father's Day is coming!! is it 13th or 20th? duno lar, but we're gonna celebrate for Daddy! yeah! :D

And, the 2 most important ppl in my life are coming back to Singapore soon!!!! Tiffany on the 18th (er issit???) and Huimin on the 25th!!! yeah! miss theses 2 girls so much man, esp Huimin, went to UK for almost a yr liao, duno whether how she look like now!

Pls book me for shopping-cum-dinner-cum-move hor!!!

sigh, i'm abt to lose my part-time job.

not the Fullerton one lar, it's my tuition.

My student was telling me that his father wanted him to try studying on his own and not rely on tuition teachers.

i wasn't upset or wat upon hearing that, jus had this feeling that what I've been thinking abt has come true.

He only scored 30+ marks for his mid term exams but overall he still gotten a C5 for his Chinese.

Does a student's results always determine how good or bad a teacher is?
Should a teacher always be justified by how many marks her students get?

this is such a misperception. I mean I feel that the role of a tuition teacher is not jus there to ensure that the student score high marks in his exams ya noe. He or she is there to provide guidance and monitor the student to make sure that he will revise and refresh what he has learned in school and also clarify all doubts that he has during class. We can't 100% guarantee that through our teaching your child will definitely get high marks rite?

i mean it also depends on the student. If he doesn't put in his effort to learn and do well, I think I can't do anything much about it either.

Why are parents so obesessed with results? Don't they understand that what's most important is the process of learning and not the end of it? What matters most is whether he understand what's he doing and learning? If he studied for the sake of studying, the only result you'll get will be like many other Singaporean kids here. They're so dependent on teachers and ten year series, other school's papers and such that they don't even haf the space and time to think on their own. Their own thoughts and feelings, have they lost them completely?

I wish there could be some salvage done to the children and leaders of tomorrow. BUt i guess it's pretty hard because the concept of spoon-feeding has been so deeply rooted in our education system that it is perhaps impossible to change anything.

Results are not anything, yet the more we preach abt it there more it is harder to realise and implement it because more than often, the society judge us on how high we score, how many distinctions we can attain, the class of honours, the degree etc etc. Do you think they'll hire someone who is really hardworking and diligent in his work but yet unable to score? I don't think so. They can only see the hard facts that's presented to them, the no of certificates and the type of them.

so much effort and money in putting into the education system only to realise that it has been eating into our minds and drowning our creativity ever since we were young.

God save us....

i'm so scared!!!!

i'm sitting at the library in school, waiting for 2pm to come so i can start the heart-racing bid to get my time slots for the coming sem.

spent like the past 4 hrs discussing with my friends how to get alternatives if we don't get our first choice. sigh, really hate this system man, why can't they jus allocate the slots to us? then we can be spared of all this mind-boggling thingy!!! aargh!!!

oh God, pls help me to get the time slots i wan, so that I won't have to fret over how I'm coming to school and stuff..i jus hope i can get the time slots i wanted, else my time table will be very bad, i could even haf lessons right until 530pm....

i hope this agony will end soon.....

more or less settled with my timetable for my coming sem...been wasting so much time doin this stupid thingy and keep changing this and that coz there are so many external factors to take into consideration...sianzzz, hate to register for own timetable, i wud rather they allocate it to me and if I'm not happy or wat den i go add/drop or wat...

took leave on Fri to go back to sch libray to chop computer to register... THo my time is from 2pm onwards, I'm gonna meet my friends at 10am so that we could be sure that we can secure a comp and plop ourself right in front of the comp and wait for 2pm to strike before we press 'Enter'. that's how competitive it is, if there's even a slight delay, i can jus wave goodbye to my time table liao...

yeah! tom is Vesak Day! which means it's a holiday for me!!~~ can sleep late, watch my fave Smallville (Clark Kent is so handsome!!) and dun nid to wake up so darn early every morning. GOnna go back to my old house market at Ang Mo Kio to eat breakfast w parents and do some grocery shopping. Mum love to shop there coz she said she has been living at AMK for 20+ years already, so everytime we went back, we wud always be buying more than a week of groceries!! :D

wonder why my mood is kina swinging lately...dun think it's PMS coz I jus finished mine like 2 wks ago....maybe it's the weather, or maybe it's jus me.

i hope i can go back to myself soon..
